Bus routes 14, 49, 70, 74, 345, 360, 414, 430 and C1 stop outside South Kensington Underground Station.
Bus routes 9, 10, 52, 452 and 70 stop outside the Royal Albert Hall on Kensington Gore.
There is a coach drop-off point in Exhibition Road outside the Museum. The nearest coach parks are located at Warwick Road, Bayswater Road and Park Lane.

Transport for London Santander Cycle Hire docking stations are available outside the Museum on Exhibition Road and on Thurloe Place near South Kensington tube station.
We do not have dedicated bicycle stands, but folding bicycles can be left in our cloakroom on Level –1.
We do not have car parking facilities and local parking is very limited.
There is no visitor parking in Exhibition Road.
The nearest pay and display car parking is in Prince Consort Road and Queen’s Gate.

A small number of disabled parking spaces are available outside the Museum on Exhibition Road.
Blue Badge holders may park here for four hours between 08.30 and 18.30.

The nearest underground stations are West Kensington (District Line) and Barons Court (District and Piccadilly Lines). Both stations are about a 10-minute walk from Blythe House.
South Central both operate services to Kensington (Olympia) via Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction.
Trains to and from Clapham Junction stop at West Brompton to change with the District Line.
There are regular bus services from Kensington High Street.

The nearest station is Swindon, approx. 10 miles from the Museum. A taxi from the station to the Museum should cost no more then £20.

If you’re travelling into the city from the motorway, head towards the M60 ring road around Manchester, and look out for the brown tourist signs directing you to the Science and Industry Museum.

- Park all day for £7 at the Park Avenue RCP car park (8 Albion Street, M1 5NZ) when you tell them you’re visiting the Science and Industry Museum

There are two spaces for Blue Badge holders on Lower Byrom Street next to our main entrance.
You can lock up your bicycle on Lower Byrom Street just outside our main entrance.
Our nearest railway station is Deansgate, which is 10 minutes’ walk away.
We are 15 minutes’ walk away from Manchester Oxford Road station, 25 minutes’ walk away from Manchester Victoria station, and 30 minutes’ walk away from Manchester Piccadilly station.
You can travel to Deansgate station on the train from Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road railway stations.
The free Metroshuttle bus service stops at all city centre railway stations. All 3 Metroshuttle services will bring you within 5 minutes’ walk of the museum.
By Metrolink (Greater Manchester tram network)
Our nearest Metrolink stop is Deansgate–Castlefield, which is serviced by all trams except for:
- Bury to Abraham Moss (blue line)
- Cornbrook to MediaCityUK (brown line)

The green Metroshuttle number 2 bus stops right outside the museum entrance on Lower Byrom Street.

The Museum is situated in Bradford city centre and the route is well signposted. We are a five-minute walk from Bradford Interchange and a 15-minute walk from Bradford Forster Square station.
Bradford Interchange is served by all main bus operators in the area. Find timetable information on the West Yorkshire Metro website.
Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square stations are centrally located and are served by both local and national railway lines. Plan your journey using National Rail Enquiries.
From the M62, take Junction 26 onto the M606, and follow the brown tourist signs on your approach to Bradford city centre.
There is a pick-up and drop-off point outside the main museum entrance.
The nearest car parks are Sharpe Street and Radwell Drive, at the rear of the museum. There are multi-storey car parks at Hall Ings, Broadway and Southgate. Charges will apply. Further details of nearby car parks can be found on the Bradford Metropolitan District Council website.

The Rawcliffe Park and Ride bus picks up and drops off just outside the Museum.
The Museum is only a few minutes’ walk from York station and the route is signposted:
- Turn left outside the front of the station
- Pass the Royal York Hotel and turn left into Leeman Road
- Continue through the tunnel—the Museum is straight ahead.
There is also a direct route to the Museum via the station footbridge.
The Museum is clearly signposted from all approaches to the city. Our visitor car park is on Leeman Road (£9 per day).

Locomotion is three minutes’ walk from Shildon Station. Visit Northern Railway for train times.
Regular bus services run from Bishop Auckland and Darlington. Arriva services number 1 (from Darlington) and number 5 (from Bishop Auckland) stop on Dale Road, just outside Locomotion.

- From A689 towards Bishop Auckland (Rushyford/Eden Arms Roundabout)
- From A688 (Bishop Auckland) at roundabout onto West Auckland Road (A6072)
- Take Junction 58 on A1(M) onto the A68 (for Corbridge) and follow the Locomotion signs. We’re just 15 minutes from the A1(M).
Satnav users: use the postcode DL4 2RE for the main car park. This will direct you to the small industrial estate that’s next to the museum: follow the road into the industrial estate, and the car park is the last turn on the left.
Locomotion is a 15-minute walk from Shildon town centre.
