This collaboration between the Science Museum and The Courtauld shed light on rarely seen artworks from the Courtauld collection.
Works displayed through the Illuminating Objects programme were on view at the Science Museum in 2018-21 while the Courtauld’s home at Somerset House underwent major renovation.
This allowed a series of precious objects to be shown in a new context, highlighting their scientific and technological histories.

Only in person can you appreciate the free, abstract colours and forms of this delicate textile.
