To complement the opening of our Energy: Fuelling the Future gallery we embarked on an innovative project using film to inspire Year 7 students and educate them about the subject of energy.
Outcomes
We worked with a total of 27 schools and reached over 4,125 Year 7 students in London, Swindon and Hull. In each school we:
- Delivered a classroom session exploring the topic of energy in new and exciting ways, through demos and quizzes
- Presented a specially-written show covering what energy is, where it comes from and how we use it
- Supported students in making their own three-minute film on the theme of energy
All the classes involved in the project came to a Celebration Day at the Science Museum, which included a premiere of their films in the Science Museum’s IMAX cinema.
