An initiative that explores how people in the past used instruments, machines and equipment to achieve particular results.

Metropolitan science

This project looks beyond well-known individuals and the Royal Society to examine how modern science developed in 17th- and 18th-century London.

Railway Work, Life and Death

This project is making it easier to find out about railway worker accidents in Britain and Ireland in the early 20th century.

Bradford’s National Museum

This project aims to experiment with how the museum’s two new strategies can be combined to create a new role for the museum in Bradford.
